Friday Social Skills Groups

Winter 2011

Children’s Speech and Language Services, Inc. in Arlington, VA is pleased to offer Friday social skills groups this winter.

Winter Dates: January 6, 13, 20, 27 February 3, 17, 24 March 2

PlayPals, a group for children ages 3-6, focuses on the improvement of social language and social interaction skills, including turn-taking, verbally initiating interaction with and responding to peers, playing cooperatively with peers, and developing imaginative play skills. There will be 2-4 children per group.

Friendship Spies, a group for children ages 7-10, addresses building friendships, improving conversational skills, perspective taking, interpreting social situations, and developing self-regulation strategies. There will be 2-4 children per group.

• Winter social skills groups will run for 8 weeks:
  January 6, 13, 20, 27 February 3, 17, 24 March 2
• Classes will be 60 minutes every Friday
• $800 per 8-week session (eight 60-minutes classes)
• Families are required to pre-register and pre-pay (in two installments) for 8-week session
• Social Skills Groups Policy Statement/Agreement
• Social skills groups will not be billed to insurance
